How your Gift Makes a Difference

Educating Future Champions of Nature
Students attending summer camps, field trips, Creekside Forest School, and in-service camps received a total of more than 1,300 hours of instruction. Support from members, donors, and volunteers (who often lead these programs) makes these immersive outdoor experiences possible. Thanks to community support, Indian Creek Nature Center is inspiring the next generation to become stewards of our planet.

Volunteering Benefits Nature & Community
Volunteers spent more than 11,000 hours across 2025 serving Indian Creek Nature Center's mission to promote a more sustainable future. By devoting their time and talents to support special events, improve and maintain 7 miles of trails, and remove invasive plant species, volunteers help spread knowledge, preserve wild spaces for outdoor recreation, and maximize donor contributions.

Creating a Welcoming Environment for All
Nature is for everybody - and the community has helped make Indian Creek Nature Center a place where all can feel welcome in nature. Through support for trail accessibility improvements and the launch of a new all-terrain wheelchair reservation program, the trails and grounds around Amazing Space have never been more accessible.
Your Support Makes Amazing Happen!
On a sunny day in May the five-year-olds at Creekside Forest School who were “graduating” to kindergarten were each given a wooden medallion with the words “Champion of Nature” written in bold letters. The children’s pride was obvious as they showed their medallions to their classmates and teachers.
When asked what it meant to be a ‘Champion of Nature’ these young children had answers well beyond their years that were formed by hundreds of hours spent outside engaging with plants, wildlife, and the seasons. “It means to take care of nature. And to just let nature be,” said one preschooler. Another answered simply, “It means helping nature.”
Building meaningful relationships with nature is the core of Indian Creek Nature Center’s mission. Stewarding 400 acres of wetlands, prairies, and woodlands. Offering immersive outdoor experiences. Hosting nature-inspired events. Leading educational programs. Modeling sustainable living.
Everything is aimed at creating more Champions of Nature — and everything depends on nature lovers like you who make it possible.
Your support for Indian Creek Nature Center inspires others to take care of nature, much the way our young “graduate” reminds us to do.
THANK YOU!
