Join Indian Creek Nature Center for their first annual creek clean-up, Saturday, June 10th, 9 AM – noon. Indian Creek flows south from Alburnett to the Cedar River, where the Nature Center sits at the confluence of the two. Starting at the Otis Road bridge near the Nature Center’s Barn, we will walk the banks of the creek to pick up trash. Come prepared to get wet, and dirty! We will divide into three groups: low, medium and high intensity. Snacks, trash bags, and gloves will be provided.
We are looking for 5-10 people with canoes to volunteer with us the day of the event so we can access the middle of the creek. *This is subject to water levels on the day of the event.* Don’t have a canoe, but want to help from the ground? Find a suitable spot for you, your friends, and family. We’ll divide and conquer on a small stretch of the creek.
Meet Nature Center staff at the Barn parking lot (6665 Otis Rd SE) to sign a liability waiver. Bring a sack lunch to relax on the patio of Amazing Space (5300 Otis Rd SE) after a morning of hard work. You can Sign Up Here.
