Help us get kids outside!
Think about your best childhood memory. Does it take place outdoors? For many of us, those memories include playing in the woods, biking outdoors with friends, or building a tree fort.
Unfortunately, less than 10% of today’s children are spending time outside each day. High amounts of screen time, busy schedules and an increasingly urban population mean that fewer and fewer children are making the kind of memories that we remember – the kind set in nature.
Why is this important? Because only people who care about nature will work to protect it. And our planet needs champions of nature now more than ever.
How can I help? #GivingTuesday is an easy way to make a big impact and help Indian Creek Nature Center #getkidsoutside. This international day of giving takes place each year on the day after Cyber Monday and provides an opportunity to show your support for organizations and causes you care about.
This year, Indian Creek Nature Center has set a $10,000 #GivingTuesday goal to fund our FREE Preschool Trails Trekkers programs and offset the cost of our Creekside Critters preschool field trips for 300 children.
We ask you to donate to Indian Creek Nature Center on #GivingTuesday, November 28, to help us reach our $10,000 goal to get 300 preschoolers outside and connected to nature!
Children ages 3-5 are at a critical age for developing an appreciation of the outdoors. The physical, mental and emotional benefits of time spent in nature are incredible, and our high-quality preschool programs put kids in nature to reap the benefits.
To make an even bigger impact, please “like” the Nature Center on Facebook to share our #GivingTuesday posts, and tell your friends about #GivingTuesday!
