At Creek Camp, children from preschool to 8th grade are guided by naturalists as they explore the outdoors, learn about wildlife, enjoy unstructured play, practice outdoor skills, observe the wonder of nature and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.

As the area’s first nature school, Creekside Forest School is proud to be educating children (ages 3 to 5) through play-based learning while spending more than 80% of their school hours outdoors.

Year-round field trips bring school-aged youth outdoors to enhance their learning with engaging and fun programs led by experienced ICNC Naturalists.

Children will go on indoor and outdoor learning adventures with experienced ICNC educators. Children will spend their time out of school learning in a fun new way.

Our workshops, held throughout the school year, allow Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts to meet nature-based requirements for badges and Journeys (Girl Scouts) and adventures (Cub Scouts).

Preschool Trail Trekkers takes preschool-aged children and their adults on learning adventures with experienced naturalists. Hands-on activities, games, crafts, stories and songs make learning about nature interactive and fun.

Become a beekeeper in this annual series designed for individuals serious about hobby beekeeping. The series takes participants through the annual cycle of beekeeping from establishing a hive to harvesting.

Learn the basics required to safely and successfully raise chickens in urban and suburban areas. Backyard Chicken Workshops provide you with the knowledge and certification needed to care for your own flock.

The Nature Center’s property is ideally suited for a quick getaway. Located five miles from downtown Cedar Rapids, the Nature Center is easily accessible and provides a number of different experiences that can be customized for your group.
