Bob Untiedt grew up in Davenport & Durant, Iowa. He then went to Coe College, graduating with a degree in Business & Sociology. Subsequently, he spent nearly 40 years working in small nonprofits, ranging from mediation in the courts of Chicago to directing a training center for nonprofits with the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, to 15 years in faith-based community organizing in Milwaukee, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. He lives near the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, which has some of the oldest trees in the county. He enjoys live music, biking, and cooking. He has a cat, Benamir (which means ‘handsome’ in the Hindi language).
