Wilderness First Aid

Learn wilderness first aid in this 2-day class, perfect for those who work outdoors, travel or vacation in the outdoors, and those interested in building upon their first aid training.

Meet your instructor: Mike Anderson is a certified Wilderness First Aid Instructor and CPR Instructor with 14 years of experience working with various outdoor groups such as Boy Scouts, outdoor recreation programs, climbing/hiking organizations, university ROTC, ACA Kayak Instructor, university forestry/environmental students, and outdoor enthusiasts.

Be prepared to be outdoors on ICNC trails for the majority of this training and dress appropriately for the weather. This course will be held at the Penningroth Barn at 6665 Otis Rd SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403, just down the road from the Amazing Space building.

Current CPR certification is required to attend the Wilderness First Aid training.

Fee: Members $190 NonMembers $200.

If you are not currently certified in CPR, the Wilderness First Aid instructor will provide online coursework to complete before WFA training and in-person testing on Friday after WFA class. CPR certification is an additional $70. If CPR certification is needed, you must register for WFA by Friday, May 29th.

Class is 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM on June 5 and June 6.
