During Indian Creek Nature Center’s Honey Fest, Entomologist Steve Hanlin will be giving a presentation on the Importance of Pollination. Honey Fest will beon Sunday, September 21 from 1-4. The fee to this presentation will be included in the admission to Honey Fest, which is just $2. (Children 3 and under are free!) Steve will be presenting at the “Pollination Station” at about 2 pm.
Did you know that in the U.S., one third of all crops require insect pollination, and 80% of those pollinators are honeybees? Bees are important little critters! Steve will discuss different pollinators, and how to encourage them in your own yard so that you can benefit from pollinators in your garden.
